In today’s world, no responsible entrepreneur can ignore the principles and importance of sustainability. With the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) the UN has set 17 interrelated objectives which cover a wide range of sustainable development issues, covering all aspects of economic, social and political actions. The European Union has undertaken various initiatives to promote sustainability in different sectors.
Since terms such as sustainable responsibility, protection of resources, climate actions, supply chain sustainability etc. enters the vocabulary of companies, they also flow down into project management and will have an impact on project management in the future.

Leading projects according to “Green Project Management® (GPM)” helps to align projects to the current standards of sustainability and assure that they comply with the world-wide frameworks in this field. Green Project Management® is an integrated approach to implementing sustainability in project management.
GPM® has created a comprehensive sustainable project management methodology – called PRiSM™ (Projects integrating Sustainable Methods). Together with the P5 Standard which enables organizations to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals through projects, project managers dispose of distinct tools to assure that all relevant aspects of sustainability are taken into account while ensuring sustainable business benefits as well. Florian Ivan and Patrick Lehmann will elaborate and explain the Green Project Management's approach, tools and methods in more detail. They will illustrate some ways how GPM can be implemented within a project management approach of a company.

Florian Ivan
		Florian Ivan is a seasoned consultant and trainer who is dedicated to enhancing organizational performance through project management. With over 20 years of experience, he has served in both operational and executive positions for various IT and consulting firms. Florian is enthusiastic about his work and brings a diverse and extensive background to the table. He has earned the respect of his clients, as well as the project management community, often serving as an expert or advisor. Clients appreciate Florian’s professionalism, vast experience, and storytelling skills. Along with his consulting role, he is often a trusted advisor for his clients. Florian holds a degree in data analysis from the University of Oxford and a master’s degree in project management from George Washington University. He has several certifications, including PMP, IPMA Level B, Stanford Certified Project Manager, Prince2 Practitioner, PMI-ACP, CSM, CSP, DASSM, DAC, MCTS. He is fluent in English, French, and German. Florian’s passion for project management has led him to take on various volunteer positions with the Project Management Institute.

 

Patrick Lehmann
		Patrick Lehmann is CEO of STS | the project training company which provides project management training and certification preparation to companies and individuals. STS has also developed a series of learning tools to improve the learning experience. Patrick is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and follows the development of all the major project management certifications – such as IPMA, PRINCE2, Green Project Management and APM. He assures the alignment of the various training and learning tools to the major project management standards. Patrick holds a university degree in history and political sciences and an MBA from the Universities of Rochester and Berne. Prior to STS, he has worked as a project manager at the Geneva Center for Security Policy and as Deputy Director at sanu, a training center in Sustainability.
