Ben Finnigan

Ben is a technical project manager, specializing in vehicle powertrains, but he is also very interested in broadening his scope to other technical challenges. Currently Ben is working on a fuel cell development and industrialization project and he is a great believer in the potential cleansing role of Hydrogen in our society going forward.

Ben enjoys the challenges of project leadership and management and has developed his skills over his career. PMP certification was a great way for Ben to check his progress and at the same time demonstrate this in a meaningful way. Ben joined the Swiss chapter, because it makes sense to him networking and keeping up to date from a local perspective.

Ben is originally British and he has found his home in Switzerland, close to the high alps, where the connection to the planet is strong and he can generate his mental and physical stimulation and motivation. He is a keen mountain hiker, biker and skier (all forms) and a big fan of cheese and beer.

Julie De Castro - April 2022

JULIE DE CASTRO

Julie has completed her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. She has 18 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry specializing technical sales and project management.

Originally from the Philippines, she moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2005 and began her career in a chemical manufacturing company for oil drilling as QA/QC Technical Documentation Coordinator. As she is a people person, she followed her passion and went back to sales after two years in the laboratory. From then on, she works as generalizing specialist on areas such as technical sales, procurement, office management, business development and project management. To some, working on a multicultural environment could be challenging, but not for her. She’s enjoying working with various nationalities most of her career in and outside the U.A.E. such as United Kingdom, France and Germany.

Covid 19 made a positive impact to her personal development when she decided to study Project Management. In December 2021, she earned her Project Management Professional certification.

At the moment, she’s busy with her freelancing and consultancy jobs.

Rafal Nessel - March 2022

Rafal Nessel

Rafal has over 20 year of professional experience in a broad range of consulting services. He has specialized in project and program management and gained experience in large transformation programs. He is interested in leadership, innovation, continuous improvement, value delivery, lean and agile as well as strategy, and project portfolio management.

Rafal joined PMI over 10 years ago and appreciated learning opportunities, events and networking with other project management practitioners.
After moving to Switzerland Rafal would like to connect with local PMI community.

Igor Aleksandrov - February 2022

Igor Aleksandrov

Igor is originally from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. He graduated from the Saint-Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics and defended his PhD thesis dedicated to Industrial construction. He completed various courses related to project management, risk management, Lean Six Sigma etc. And Igor passed his PMP exam in 2020.

Started his career in 2005 and since then worked for various engineering and construction companies on contractor and owner role. He participated in several large scale infrastructural projects starting from feasibility studies and across the entire project life cycle. Igor gained experience in various project disciplines, such as engineering, survey, permitting, logistics, onshore and offshore construction.

He constantly improves his knowledge in various areas of interest such as project management, financial management, procurement, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma.

Igor currently lives in Zug, Switzerland. He speaks four languages including English, German, Serbian and Russian.

Amaia Uriarte - February 2022

Amaia Uriarte

Amaia is a senior mechanical engineer passionate about sustainable innovation technologies. Solution oriented, with analytic solving capabilities, she stands on a spot where design and engineering intersect. Amaia likes to participate in ambitious projects and fulfils objectives empowered with excellent project management techniques.

Currently working as a mechanical engineer in a climate technology company, Amaia wants to make a step forward in her career and leverage her project management knowledge. Her personal 2022 goal in the roadmap will be getting a CAPM supported by her company.

Amaia is also passionate about motorcycles and went for a journey of two years back in 2018. After this life changing experience, she came back to Switzerland and enrolled in 2021 as a firefighter volunteer to have a social positive impact in her community.
