| | 18. What was missing (if anything)? | - nothing; excellently organised and executed
- A third parallel stream would have been appreciated as I was more interested in these presentations than in the general lectures. Especially the "yet another maturity model" contribution of Frederik Ahlemann could well have been in one of the breakout streams instead.
- creativity
- an opportunity for chapter members to present a topic (there was no open call for speakers)
- More insight on processes and organisation, was too much focussed on IT Tools to support
- More contributions and attendees from the top level of companies - C-level.
- The exhibition should cover more the practical aspect ie. it would be better to have the product in reality instead of in paper/in presentation.
- longer coffee breaks for networking
- The "Married by the Boss" presentation was read directly from a script which made it quite uninteresting. There was a feeling that some of the presentations were just promotions of the company's products.
- No; there was a good mix
- The presentations were too oriented to specific companies and products, it felt somehow a marketing event. I would have liked to have a more independent views on new and emerging trends in the field of PM.
- Practical examples of where the Maturity model OPM3 specific have been aplplied and resuts if any.
- The possibility to attent more than only two of the planed presentations in the afternoon.
- In vielen diesen (Projectmanagement)-Events wird immer wieder betont, wie wichtig der Mensch ist. Leider wird in bezug auf die Softfactors kaum je etwas präsentiert.
- The moderation from Martin in the panel discussion was excellent! Very professional! I did however miss an answer from the tool/process people on the clearly provocative remarks from Peter H. Some more "fighting" would have been interesting to follow, and this should have been stimulated by the moderator...
- Nothing
- Longer breaks to give participants the opportunity to visit exhibitors
- more indoor tables during breaks (it was rather hot on the terrace)
- case studies related to PM models, methodology, practices, tools...
- Nothing
- Something to eat in the afternoon.
- I have not missed anything!
- I have not missed anything!
- Light food : vegetables without sausage.
- More concrete business opportunities
- some glue between the presentation which were quit independent from one another
- Nothing missed
- More time and opportunities for discussing the varioous topics presented
- Missing to a great extent, except for the kewnote address, were presentations on the softer factors in PM, namely people, communications, collaboration, execution, leadership, and other similar factors.
| | 19. What topics would you like to see covered at future events? | - quality management in IT projects
- How about a "Management Maturity Model" ;o)
- If possible, can you please include topics related to Risk Management and Quality Management.
- deal with the real problems of project managers: impossible missions, team work, difficult sponsors
- - Portfolio Management topics
- "Light" Project Management approaches. - "Continuous Improvement" in PM -> how do you reach level 4 in CMMi / Kerzner models?
- Project Management Quality
- Processes for Portfolio Management, how to translate strategy into usable key indicators to prioritize the projects in the portfolio.
- General management and project management - how does the career path fit together - also from the point of education at universities?
- PMO, PO, CoE, ...
Role of PM's and location on org. chart. Career track for PM's
- The relation General Management - Project Management
- A comparison of PM real-life experiences across different branches, e.g. using case studies. The objective would be "knowledge sharing" between branches (e.g. Telecoms, Construction, Pharmaceutical, etc.)
- I would like to see/hear from practitioners what works for them and where they traditionally experience problems and how they overcome them, if at all.
- - Strategic PM
- Soft skills - Practical case studies - New trends/methods
- Project Initiation Phase. Seems to me the most important. Can make or break a project.
- Hands-on case studies of maturity assessment and improvement/implementation methods.
- z.B. Arbeitstechniken / Workshops zur Förderung der Teamentwicklung und Zusammenarbeit. (Beispiel: Flowteam-Methode -> Möglicher Kontakt: Firma Persenova, Paula Duwan (079 / 277 19 05)
- Now you had an event on tools and processes, let's follow Peter Hruschka's advice to focus on people! I mean an event on managing people, soft skill such as motivation, knowledge management etc. I am conviced that a lot of us members can present perhaps shorter sessions (20 min plus 10 min questions) on best practices they use in their projects
- more exhibitors and more time for the exhibition
- business value (ROI, EVA) of PM maturity models and professional PM in general; business value (ROI, EVA) of PM tools;
concrete case studies (learn from MBA programs); less marketing hype and "ConsultantSpeak"
- - Comparison IMPMA / PMI
- Carreers for project managers (training concepts) - Standardisation in Project Management: Will there soon be an ISO / IEC - Standard?
- Agile programming oriented PMSs if any exist at that time.
- Intercultural Mgmt;
- Intercultural Mgmt;
- ROI of project management
- More leading edge subject matter with neutral value adding views, less vendor led material
- 1. Pratical use of one of the PMBOK knowlegde areas.
2. PMP and what next: how make more practical the state of the art PMBOK ?
- Strategic Position of Project Management within Organisations
Strategies for a strategically and tactical implantation of a PMO
Career Path Models for Project Managers (Case Studies)
PMI and RoW (Rest of World) or PMI meets PRINCE2 (general speaking – a comparison of different PM Methodologies)
- Many questions, answers, speaches related to the rather conflictual relationship between corporate officers and project managers. Nothing new, this is stakeholders management and PM position/role issue. But yesterday we were speaking "among us". I would be interested to listen to what executives have to say in order to better understand their perspective. An "Informal Business Lunch with Executives" where a VP or C?O is telling us his experience with project management could help build a bridge and also promote PMI's image of "endlessly fighting against destiny".
- Presentations on the softer factors in PM, namely people, communications, collaboration, execution, leadership, and other similar factors.
| | 20. Do you have any other comments or remarks about this event? | - Unfortunately I was not able to attend in the afternoon, therefore the n/a's
- Many thanks indeed for the efforts put into pulling such an event together! This is really advancing the profession.
- Very well organised. Thanks to PMI Swiss Chapter for their great effort in organising this event.
- the conference format is boring (like most conferences); a somewhat boring to not-so-boring presentation, a muffled audience, ... but the audience was muffled in break-outs too; everybody only expects to be front-loaded`?
- na
- A pannel should be always controversal to be inspiring and livly - this could be improved.
- this event was very helpful. It has deliverd a lot of benefits and information. It has confirmed our strategy to work on maturity. Thanks.
- I found the event very interesting, also especially for networking possibilities. I will come back !
I particularly appreciated the speakers Hruschka and Friedrich.
- It was really annoying to find out that there was a special discounted price for the parking AFTER having paid the normal price.
- Unfortunately, I had to leave after the first workshop and could therefore not stay until the end.
- The finger food was below average and there was little vegetarian/fish choice.
- Was well organised. But Lunch was for me (being a vegeterian) not a satisfying exprience :)
- Keep the location & venue: just perfect.
Excellent organization, really upper-class (venue, food, print-outs-CD, coordination, etc...) Superbe job! COngratulations!
- A BIG THANK YOU AGAIN to all who helped to make the Summer Conference 2005 a reality and such a great event, especially to the COPAT Team (Martin, Rüdiger, Merja and Bruce)!
- Firstly, a big thank-you to the organisations team. PMI Switzerland has come a long way in the last couple of years. Congratulations!
In general, the sessions were very interesting. The only issue I had was that on one hand the presentations were either at a very "high" (theoretical)or at a very "low" (too much tool detail) level. This is not meant as a criticism, but I would have liked to have had "hands-on" sessions for the practical application of maturity assessment and improvement. Perhaps next time!!
- Invoice has been sent twice. One time with 30 days payment term and one time with deadline till June 21.
- Nicht nur tool- und organisationsorientiert etwas anbieten sondern auch Organisationsentwicklung im Bereich Softfactors.
- Panel Discusion: Martin Härri moderated very well. Some panel members were a little passive. Discussion and questions seem to drift off the central theme (PM maturity and PM tools), but maybe that was ultimately beneficial! Good question: "Where will we be in 3 year's time?"
- - Great, it was a success and the people I talked to were all very happy!
- It was a bit hard to see the beamed presentation on the wall from the back, the lower third was not visible...
- do it again Sam
- Good job by the organizing team.
- how about two panel discussions - one (shorter) in the morning and one (somewhat longer) in the afternoon? Would add some more dynamic to the conference, possibly.
- Well organized, thank you!
- A big thank you to all who made this event a success; congratulations for your engagement and dedication
- A big thank you to all who made this event a success; congratulations for your engagement and dedication
- Too expensive for what I got.
- Distribution of CD vey good, paper handouts only for sessions that are attended
- The parking costs were far too excessive, did somebody forget to negotiate an appropriate deal beforehand?
- too abstract
- No
- Comment to question 11. I had a hard time to understand this presentation. Sometimes pronounciation in English is so poor that moderators should stick to their languages (Swiss German or German).
- I would like to see experienced persons within our PMI Switzerland Chapter present workshops or summaries of their experience in PM in practice.
