Presented by: Dr. Thomas Diethelm, PMP and Werner Schaufelberger, PMP

Abstract

This presentation will cover

  • Managing the triple constraint needs specific skills and attention.
  • Well known PM-processes help to manage the challenge.
  • The PM is recognized as a critical success factor for projects.
  • Accoring to Berkley University there is a correlation between PM-Maturity and measurements like CPI and SPI. Why is the curve decreasing at the end?
  • IMP analysed critical projects and identified causes for failure
  • As PM is mission-critical, IBM has developed an Enterprise wide approach and set up a project management center of excellence.
  • Additional elements of IBMs PM-World:
    • education curriculum
    • processes and tools
  • The second part shows the practical obstacle and some experience with "project office" and it's various misinterpretations... as well as "over-kill" in project administration.
