In his presentation, André Dosé will cover the unique experience of a truly special project: The creation of a worldwide airline in just six months.

The project “Phoenix” was a national effort to build a new airline in Switzerland, later named Swiss International Airlines. The project started immediately after the bankruptcy of Swissair in the fall of 2001, only a month after the tragic events of 9-11, and at a time the world airline-industry plunged in its deepest crisis ever.

Under very intense observation and criticism of the Swiss public, the press, political and economical leaders of the country there was only one result possible: To be successful.

The project included all aspects of challenging management tasks at once: A start-up, a merger, a restructuring and the launch of a worldwide brand. Affected by several unforeseen challenges and even a disaster André and his project team had to adjust their plans many times to successfully launch the new airline. About the speaker:

André started his career with Swissair in Geneva and London where he gained experience in Operation, Sales, Cargo and Passenger services. Subsequently he acquired his pilot’s license in the U.S. and was flying for various airlines until joining Crossair Ltd. There within a span of 14 years he rose to the rank of President & CEO. From here André continued cruising the skies, and became the founding president and CEO of Swiss International Airlines. He then had a brief stint at Gulf air as the President & CEO before establishing his own consulting firm in Switzerland.
