Dr. David Hillson (The Risk Doctor) in Switzerland

David Hillson, PhD, PMP, FAPM, FIRM, is internationally recognized as a risk management expert. He is the Director of Risk Doctor & Partners, with over ten years’ of experience in risk management consultancy and training for clients across the world. Dr Hillson is a popular conference speaker and author on risk, and has won several awards for his papers. His recent emphasis has been proactive opportunity management within the risk process, which is the topic of his book Effective Opportunity Management for Projects: Exploiting Positive Risk (Dekker, 2003) and the cultural prerequisits for open communication about uncertainties, see his latest book Understanding and Managing Risk Attitude (Gower, 2005). Dr. Hillson is an active member of the Project Management Institute and was awarded the 2002 PMI Distinguished Contribution Award for his work in developing the discipline of risk management. He was a founding member of the PMI Risk Specific Interest Group (SIG) and was closely involved in updating the risk chapter of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (the PMBOK® Guide) – (Third Edition). He is also a Fellow of the UK Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and a Fellow of the UK Association for Project Management (APM).
