Questions on Application

Q
What kind of evidences regarding my jobs are accepted?

A
Everything that shows when, where and what. This might be a job reference, a letter from the (former) boss, print outs from time booking systems etc.

What is the equivalent of 'Eidgenössiches Diplom I-CH' regarding the educational background?

A
'Eidgenössiches Diplom I-CH' is equivalent to an 'Associate's degree'.


Q
What is the equivalent of 'Fachausweis' regarding the educational background?

A
'Fachausweis' is equivalent to an 'Associate's degree'.


Q
What is the equvalent of 'Ingenieurschule', 'Höhere Technische Lehranstalt (HTL)' regarding the educational background?

A
'Ingenieurschule', 'Höhere Technische Lehranstalt (HTL)' is equivalent to an 'Bachelor's degree'.


Q
How long an application will remain opened?

A
Unfortunately, an application cannot remain open more than 90 days. It will expire automatically but PMI do have the possibility to re-open it for edit when the candidates has gathered the total information he needs to submit.

What happens if I do not finish my application within one year?

A
You have to start from the scratch (including payment).


Questions on Exam

How many questions do I have to answer correctly to pass the exam?

A
Please note that PMI no longer communicates an overall passing score.

PMI's diagnostic score report will show each candidate their overall pass or fail status.

Do I have to pass in each of the six domain or is it calculated all over?

A
Each of the six Domains have different amounts of questions within them and are represented as a percentage, that are relative to each other but not equal to each other.

It is possible to fail one of the domains and yet still pass the exam. It all depends on how many items were present in the domains that were failed.

Is it possible to do the exam in German/French?

A
Yes ist is.

All you have to do is, to select the language within your application.

You always will get questions and answers in English and in the selected language in addition.

Is it possible to repeat an exam (after failing).

A
Yes. But you have to pay an additional fee (approx. USD 270).


Questions on Preparation

What is better? A preparation in a learning group or taking a course?

A
If you can afford, taking a course is much more effective. Experience shows that self studying takes about approx. 150 hrs.

Courses are offered by certain companies in Switzerland. Some of them are certified by PMI (so called REPs). You can find them on our website under 'Career Development -> Training in Switzerland'.

Does PMI offer preparation courses?

A
PMI does not offer any preparation courses. Please refer to the 'Career Development -> Training in Switzerland' section to find certified training companies in Switzerland.
